My paintings are about human experience, development of who we are, who we will become and how that happens. The intent of this study is to reveal how we relate and how our lives build on each other. In my paintings the environments interact with the subjects helping to tell a story. These subjects are an honest confrontation with my subconscious.

I experiment with textures and color to create mood. The many layers of texture and spontaneous splashes of color that make their marks across the canvas symbolize my desire to know myself and to reach knowledge of an unconscious history that I discover though painting with my heart.

 

 

This inspiration may come from the investigation of events I discover wile explore old family photographs or from objects that trigger memory from my past. My current work is focused on self portraits as a child with siblings. I want to expose the relationships between the children expressing the spiral energy that connects them.

 

 

In some of my background I have chosen to inmate fabrics from Grandmothers sewing scraps because all our clothing was made from these textiles. Through the process of these works I have come to the conclusion that the events I experienced while wearing these garments are the adventures, the sorrows, and joys that have shaped and colored my views of the world. The experience of the past is the foundation of the future.

 

 

 

 

 

 

I believe that our most intimate moments can have an extraordinary power that can transform a society. This body of work is a glimpse into a private space that is an expression of my spiritual growth.
